Studi Kasus Sistem Agribisnis Budidaya Melon Inthanon di Green House Pondok Pesantren Nurul Fattah

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the agribusiness system of Inthanon melon cultivation at the greenhouse of Nurul Fattah Islamic Boarding School, Tulang Bawang, Lampung. The study focuses on three subsystems: input, on-farm (production), and marketing, as well as supporting factors. A qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving greenhouse managers, workers, and supporting institutions. The findings indicate that the agribusiness system in this pesantren includes integrated planning of physical inputs (such as F1 hybrid seeds, cocopeat-based growing media, and fertigation-based nutrition), human resources, and capital, ensuring efficient and high-quality melon production. The production process follows standard greenhouse horticultural practices, such as precise pruning, hand pollination, and disease management based on Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Marketing strategies involve direct selling, value-added packaging, and leveraging local market networks. The success of this agribusiness model is supported by technological innovation, market access, and educational integration, making it a replicable model for other pesantren-based agribusinesses. This study highlights the potential of integrating agriculture and education in promoting community-based economic independence.
