Motivasi Pemuda Tani Dalam Berusahatani Tanaman Pangan Di Kabupaten Lampung Selatan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the intrinsic and intrinsic motivation of young farmers trying to farm food crops (rice) in South Lampung Regency. This research was conducted in South Lampung Regency in August-October 2021. The location for the research was determined purposively. The population in this study were young farmers aged 15-35 years who were trying to farm paddy rice. The number of sample farmers was 93 people. This research uses qualitative methods and quantitative methods. Data analysis used descriptive analysis. The level of motivation of the younger generation to do farming in South Lampung Regency is in the high category. This is shown from intrinsic motivation such as the urge to fulfill primary needs, a sense of security and cultural base motives, as well as extrinsic motivation such as encouragement from family, extension workers, self-actualization, appreciation, and structural base rational motives.
